John won 2 Isthmian League championships and 2 FA Amateur Cups, appearing in a further final, 5 Middlesex Senior Cups and 2 London Senior Cups. Appeared in the famous 1-1 draw with Newcastle United in the FA Cup 3rd Round in 1974 and both legs of the Barassi Cup win in 1973. Also won 61 caps for England Amateurs.
